What you’ll learn:

Raising our children is one of the most substantial things we will ever do in our lives. Documenting their childhood not just for their keepsake boxes but to re-illuminate our own memories down the road should be equally as important.

We’re ready to give you a workshop that will help provide the knowledge and skills you’ll need to get started with your DSLR camera, covering basics of camera settings, lighting, location, and tips on working with those tricky subjects we call our children, no matter the age!

What’s Included:

We’ll help with camera basics, show you techniques and tricks to work with light, composition, and how to capture the everyday. We will try to pack as much into the 4 hours of learning time as we can, while leaving enough time for questions, comments and the inevitable tangents. You’ll see our approach to working with children, lighting, and location. Following the workshop you’ll all be invited to a Facebook group where we can help you along your journey, we can share images together, and continue to offer guidance and resources you may need.

So come enjoy the day with us (Katie & Kortnee) where we will take our combined 10 years of photography experience and give you a hands-on workshop to learn, inspire, and give you some confidence as you start your journey into photography! The workshop will take place at Toot + Kate’s winebar in Verona, WI. Mimosas, non-alcoholic beverages, & light snacks will be provided.

Due to the nature of this workshop your payment is non-refundable. We understand emergency situations come up so we will allow transference of spots but no refunds will be given.

This workshop is for the beginner or aspiring photographer and is not intended for those with established businesses. If you are interested in diving deeper into business basics or advanced photography techniques be on the look out for our next workshops coming later this year.

Intro to Photography workshop will include an intro to the following:

  • DSLR basics
  • Light & Composition
  • Locations
  • Working with live subjects
  • Printing & Storage
